About me

At YUi Interiors, you’ll meet me Isabella Lekdaeng a newly graduated interior architect with both Thai and Norwegian background. I come from a small village in northeastern Thailand, where I grew up surrounded by mountains and rivers, without access to modern technology. However, I was able to develop my creativity within these simple, nature-based surroundings. With limited access to plastic dolls and other toys, I quickly learned as a child to make use of nearby resources, which sparked my imagination and encouraged me to work with all kinds of materials. My favorite activity was building miniature houses out of bamboo. I would draw the house in detail before starting the construction. Every week I had new toy and house projects.

At 16, I moved away from home to attend high school in a city far from where I grew up. My plan was to become an architect. But life took a different turn.

My mother wanted me to move to Norway to live with her. At first, I was disappointed, but I quickly realized that there was room for my creativity here too. After a year of learning Norwegian, I began studying design and crafts in upper secondary school, continuing with a specialization in interior and exhibition design. I have now completed a bachelor’s degree in interior architecture at Høyskolen Kristiania in Oslo.

Through my studies, I’ve become increasingly aware of the social responsibility that comes with being an interior architect particularly in terms of sustainability. In the future, I aim to build in environmentally friendly ways and help reduce CO₂ emissions through interior architecture that truly meets the needs of its users.

With my ability to learn quickly, courage to face new challenges, and a genuine curiosity for exploring innovative ideas, I bring both drive and creativity to everything I do.
